The first picture is first 8 inches of the 6 plait layer of the bullwhip.

I finished this layer and it came out very nice...real tight and good looking.

I used a checkerboard pattern for this layer. I think it looks better than the "irregular herringbone" pattern. Not that it matters much, because this will be inside the whip.

I've gotten as far as putting this whip onto the handle.



Hopefully I will have time to cut out the leather for this whip and bevel it today, and maybe I'll get to plaiting the next layer tomorrow.
