My first attempt at a bullwhip came out alright once I added another layer to it.

It started as a 8 strand that dropped to a 7 strand. Then I dropped the 7 strand to a 6 strand. After plaiting about 6 inches I broke a strand. Well, since at that point I only knew how to drop strands, not add them, I dropped the broken strand then did a very crappy job of adding it in. The whip works, but you an see the end of the strand that I added hanging out.

Other than that this whip cracks pretty well and looks adequate.

I'm debating throwing it away or listing it on ebay for dirt cheap. Of course in my listing I will clearly explain that it's my first attempt at making one and explain its flaws. In my opinon it would be a good "starter whip" for someone who want to try cracking, but doesn't want to spend a fortune on a whip.
