One thing that I've learned about whip making is that you've got to cut while the knife is sharp! I just put a new blade in my strand cutter (it's been a while) and hot damn, it is cutting one million times easier!

I don't know why I am not replacing them sooner, they aren't very expensive.

Also, I've learned that in the past I"ve been taper happy and it seems that it's better to have less taper to the strands. I was making my strands too narrow too soon.

Here's my progress report for my 6th whip...I'm got the handle and about 12 inches of the thong finished. This is the 8 plait layer.
